At New Barn School we support students between the ages of 6 and 19 years of age who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Our aim is very simple: we want to equip every child with the skills, knowledge and confidence that they need to be successful in their future.
Many children come to us with very complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour. We always look beyond the issues and potential barriers to learning and recognise the innate potential within. We invest time with each individual child to recognise and understand their learning needs so that we can put in place the right support package.
We pride ourselves on preparing our pupils for the next stage of their lives – not just academically but socially and emotionally and all of our pupils are encouraged to reach high standards in every aspect.
Our aim is simple, to provide outstanding care for children at New Barn, helping them to be the best they can be. We deliver a broad, balanced rich learning environment through the National Curriculum, educational and life skills, vocational opportunities as well as any additional support they need to achieve this. Built on trust and partnerships between pupils, parents and our wonderful team of teachers and support staff, you will see that our school has a lovely community atmosphere.
As well as being a Department for Education registered Independent School, New Barn School also takes pupils from the residential homes; Acorn Cottage, The Farmhouse and Ramsworth Cottage .
